Second Annual Charity Day raises over £400,000

Eden’s second annual charity day was another great success in raising money for the terrific work of our four nominated charities: Starlight Children’s Foundation; Demelza Hospice Care for Children; MediCinema and Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society).

Last year, money raised on Eden’s first charity day helped touch the lives of thousands of people. Eden granted Starlight wishes to seriously and terminally ill children, assisted Demelza fund their new hospice, aided MediCinema in funding a new cinema at the Royal Infirmary Newcastle and provided vital funds for SANDS research.

In spite of the challenging economic environment, Eden donated Institutional and Wealth Management fees and commissions and encouraged all staff to participate in fundraising.

Star Wars characters Darth Vader and Storm Troopers launched Eden’s second charity day that saw a raft of celebrity guests helping the Eden team raise money. Celebrities included Starlight Ambassadors Sienna Miller and Emma Samms, together with Bond villain Simon Kassianides, rugby legend Jason Leonard, DJs Gail Porter and Dave Berry, actress Sue Holderness and Apprentice contender Jo Cameron.

Eden’s Chief Executive David Bearman said “Eden Financial is very proud to have hosted our second annual Charity Day, a unique day in the life of the firm. Last year we supported our nominated charities who in turn have helped thousands of people and brightened the lives of those who need it most.”

Celebrity founder of Starlight Children’s Foundation, Emma Samms, said “It is just wonderful to see a company like Eden helping so many families. I can’t thank Eden enough for all they are doing.”
